The Cathedral, Salisbury, Wiltshire, c1955. Salisbury Cathedral is regarded as one of the leading examples of Early English Gothic design. The tower and spire were completed by 1330. The cathedral's spire, at 404 feet (123 metres), is the tallest in England.
