'Architecture for the Cinema Palace at Shepherd's Bush', c1935. Shepherd's Bush Pavilion in west London was built as a cinema in 1923. It was designed by Frank Verity and won the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) London Street Architecture Award for the best London facade. The building was damaged by a flying bomb in World War Two. It was restored and used subsequently a bingo hall, and later a hotel. From "Wonderful London, Volume 2", edited by Arthur St John Adcock.
