The Cornwall Railway, later part of the Great Western Railway (GWR), at Truro, showing one of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's (1806-1859) timber viaducts, built from Kyanzed yellow Baltic pine from Memel. The timberwork had a life of 30 years. Illustration after George Townsend for Views of Devonshire and Cornwall by Henry Besley. (Exeter, c1860).
