Telford's bridge over the Clyde at Broomielaw, Glasgow, 1891. This was the great Scottish civil engineer Thomas Telford's (1757-1834) last stone bridge. Begun on 18 March 1833, it was opened on 1 January 1836. This image shows horse-drawn traffic and pedestrians crossing the bridge.
