'I. Knox', (c1513-1572), 1830. John Knox (c1513-1572) Scottish minister, theologian, and writer, educated at St Andrews University. Leader of the country's Reformation and founder of the Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Royal chaplain for King Edward VI and exiled to Geneva under reign of Mary I where he met John Calvin.
