'White Conduit House about 1820', (c1872). White Conduit House on Barnesbury Road in Islington, (now part of greater London), was so named for the conduit head nearby. Cricket was played at White Conduit Fields in the 18th century. It was the original home of the White Conduit Club, forerunner of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
