Saint Didacus resuscitating two children, c1729-c1731. One of a series of works on the life of Saint Didacus of Alcalá, a Spanish Franciscan lay brother who was among the first group of missionaries to the newly conquered Canary Islands. He died at Alcalá de Henares in 1463. Some miracles attributed to him supposedly took place after his death - his body having the power to heal.
