Compton Wynyates, Warwickshire, c1955. Tudor country house, listed building constructed of red brick and built around a central courtyard. The Compton family appear in records as resident on the site as early as 1204. Wynyates is the birthplace and burial place of Spencer Compton, 1st Earl of Wilmington, considered to be the second Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
