Plaques and statues in London: bas-relief of Guy, tenth Earl of Warwick (1272-1315), dated 1668; restored by John Deykes in 1817, Warwick Lane, City of London; bas-relief of a bird; The Little Midshipman, life-sized wooden figure of a sailor holding a quadrant, shop sign for a nautical instrument store, an iconic London landmark that Dickens immortalized in his novel "Dombey and Son"; the Panyer Boy in Panyer Alley: 'When ye have sought the Citty Round Yet still this is the highest Ground - August the 27 1688'; statue of Queen Elizabeth I, designed by William Kerwin, 1586, at the Church of St Dunstan in the West: 'This Statue of Queen Elizabeth formerly stood on the West side of Ludgate. That Gate being taken down in 1760 to open the Street, was given by the City to Sir Francis Gosling, Knt., Alderman of this Ward who caused it to be placed here'; royal crest: 'these arms...having been bought by Mr. Williams, a stonemason who was employed in the construction of King Street, were placed by him more or less in their present position...the arms appear with the inscription, G II R, afterwards changed to G III R'.
