War of the Spanish Succession: Siege of Játiva (8 May to 6 June 1707), 1891. Destruction of the town. After the victory of Philip V's Bourbon troops, he ordered the burning of all the houses owned or occupied by those who had been hostile to him in the town, an action that was executed by the French troops of d'Asfeld.
