Abraham and the Angels, between 1735-1740. The painting depicts the biblical visitation of Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 18:1-15). On the right, Abraham is shown kneeling in front of the entrance to the house, with his arms outstretched. He is depicted in profile as an elderly man with gray hair and beard, dressed in a blue robe and a red coat. Behind him stands Sarah, her left hand raised. She is shown in a gray dress, an orange coat and a veil on her head. On the left, a group of three winged angels is visible, approaching Abraham. Their elongated silhouettes fill most of the image field. The flowing robes of the angels are strongly folded. In the background, on the left, there is an upland landscape and a cloudy sky.
