'The Peiwar Khotal', 1878, (1901). 'The point of view is from No.2 Mountain Battery Camp. A gun of the enemy was placed upon the end of the central spur. View of the Peiwar Kotal Pass between Pakistan and Afghanistan, scene of the Battle of Peiwar Kotal, fought on 28-29 November 1878 between British forces under Sir Frederick Sleigh Roberts and Afghan forces under Karim Khan, during the opening stages of the Second Anglo-Afghan War.
