'A Fortune in a Teacup'. A Victorian lady telling the fortunes of a group of ladies by reading tea leaves. Tasseography is a fortune-telling method that interprets patterns in tea leaves, coffee grounds, or wine sediments. The term derives from the French word tasse (cup). From a series of stereoscope cards titled the Gold Medal Series produced by The Fine Art Photographers' Publishing Company, 1901.
