Dutch-Belgian troops at the Battle of Waterloo, 1815, (late 19th century). The Dutch-Belgians under Bylandt were ordered to withdraw during the Battle which led to Napoleon's (1769-1821) defeat. He is seen here holding a map. The Liebig company produced educational trade cards promoting their preserved meat, an example of which is shown in an inset.
