William Hunter's house, and the Windmill Street School of Medicine: seen from the south, c1880s. Additional Info: William Hunter's house, anatomical theatre, and museum were built for him in Great Windmill Street, Soho, in 1767 by Robert Mylne. The specimens from the museum were left by Hunter to Glasgow University on his death. The house later became a restaurant and, in 1887, was incorporated into the Lyric Theatre as dressing rooms. It survives in this form, with a "Blue Plaque" to Hunter, today (1997).
