Wellington Arch and Quadriga, Hyde Park Corner, London, c1955. Triumphal arch by Decimus Burton, built to commemorate Britain's victories in the Napoleonic Wars. The sculpture Peace descending on the Quadriga of War by Adrian Jones, a bronze of the Goddess of Victory Nike riding a quadriga (an ancient four-horse chariot), surmounts the arch.
