'View of Leith Hill', c1844. In 1765 or 1766, Richard Hull of nearby Leith Hill Place built Prospect House, later to become known as Leith Hill Tower, south-west of Dorking, Surrey. The 18th-century Gothic tower gives a panorama of the surrounding countryside from the highest summit in south-east England.
