The town of Cameta, in Para, South America, 1868. 'The Brazilian province of Para, which lies to the south of the great estuary of the river Amazon, is now becoming a country of great commercial importance. One of the rivers flowing into the same estuary, which were opened to foreign merchant-vessels last September, is the Tocantins, with the town of Cameta on its banks. It was visited in August by H.M.S. Sharpshooter [of the British Royal Navy], and we have to thank Mr. C. Raxworthy, of that ship, for the view of Cameta engraved in this Number'. From "Illustrated London News", 1868.
