The library, Kenwood House, Hampstead, London, 1995. A detail of a mirrored recess in the Library at Kenwood House. The arch-shaped alcove is richly decorated in gold with ornate designs. The library is one of the finest Robert Adam rooms in existence. In 1969, the book-cases which had been placed in the arched recess shown here, were removed and replaced by triple mirrors to Adam's original design.
