The late Dean Stanley, 1881. 'The funeral of [the] lamented Dean of Westminster...[a] most amiable and accomplished dignitary of the English Church, took place in Westminster Abbey last Monday afternoon...Our Portrait of the late Dean Stanley is copied from one of the "Portraits at Home," taken by Mr. Samuel A. Walker, of 230, Regent-street, who has introduced a new application of photography, by which the portraits of sitters can be taken at their own residence. This likeness of Dean Stanley was taken in the library at the Deanery, and is the last that was taken of him'. From "Illustrated London News", 1881.
