The heroine Eleonore Prochaska, (1936). 'Das Heldenmädchen Eleonore Prohaska'. Eleonore Prochaska (1785-1813), the 'Potsdam Girl Hero', disguised herself as a man and joined the Lützow Free Corps, taking the name August Renz. She fought against Napoleon and was severely wounded in the battle of the Göhrde. Field-surgeons discovered she was a woman and took her to Dannenberg where she died of her wounds three weeks later. From "Bilder Deutscher Geschichte", (Pictures of German History), No.12, cigarette card album. [Cigaretten-Bilderdienst, Altona-Bahrenfeld, Hamburg, Germany, 1936]
