Sir Ralph Abercromby, British Lieutenant-General, (1870). Abercromby (1734-1801) served with distinction in the Napoleonic Wars. He died of a wound suffered in an engagement near Alexandria, Egypt, in 1801. An engraving from Robert Chambers' A Biographical Dictionary of Eminent Scotsmen, Blackie and Son, (Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London, 1870).
