Sherborne almshouses and old water conduit, Dorset, c1955. An almshouse dedicated to John the Baptist and John the Evangelist, St Johns' House, was founded in 1437 and building completed in 1448. It was expanded in 1866 in indistinguishable medieval style, and continues to be a residential institution to the present day.
