Ravensworth Castle, County Durham, home of the Earl of Ravensworth, c1880. Ravensworth was the site of a castle as far back as the 14th century. In 1808 John Nash built the present building, a Gothic mock castle, for Sir Thomas Liddell. Today the house is a ruin.
