Prison of Prince Napoleon Joseph Charles Bonaparte at the Conciergerie, (Paris, France), 1883. Prince Napoléon-Jérôme Bonaparte (1822-1891), usually called Jérôme Bonaparte, Napoléon-Jérôme Bonaparte or Plon Plon, French politician. In January 1883, the Prince published a manifesto that earned him imprisonment in the Conciergerie. He was released after twenty-six days of detention, thanks to the intervention of the Empress Eugénie, who traveled to Paris to mediate his release.
