'Princess Victoria was Confirmed at the Chapel Royal, St. James', c1899, (1901). St James's Palace, London, built c1540 and altered since, most notably by Sir Robert Smirke (1780-1867) in 1837. Its ceiling richly decorated with royal initials and coats of arms is said to have been painted by Holbein (c1497-1543). From V.R.I., Her Life and Empire, by The Marquis of Lorne, K.T.
