Ondoiement (Half-Baptism) of the Infant Prince, in the Chapel of the Tuileries, 1856. 'the Aumonier of the Emperor in the act of sprinkling the water on the Imperial infant, which is held by the gouvernante, Madame Bruat. On the other side of the small table which has been made to serve as stand for the baptismal font is the Emperor, with his hands folded. Near the altar...are Cardinal Dupont, Archbishop of Bourges; Cardinal Gousset, Archbishop of Rheims; Cardinal Donnet, Archbishop of Bordeaux; Cardinal Morlet, Archbishop of Tours; and M. Legrand, the Curé of St. Germain-l'Auxerrois, the parish in which the Palace of the Tuileries is situated. Opposite them stand the Admirals and Marshals of France...the Grand Master of the Imperial Household, the Deputy Masters of the Ceremonies, the Princess Mathilde, the Grand Mistress of the Household, and the Ladies of Honour of the Empress'.
