Nailsea jug and flasks, late 18th-first half of the 19th century, (1946). Jugs made from striped glass. The term Nailsea glass is often used to describe almost any glass item in this style. Pieces were often decorated with white lines, pulled or combed to give a feathered effect. Nailsea glassworks near Bristol gave its name to the style, but not all Nailsea glass was made here.
