King Edward's School, Bury St. Edmund's, [in Suffolk], 1850. 'This very interesting festival, in commemoration of King Edward's School, founded at Bury St. Edmmd's in 1550, was held on Friday week, and was most numerously attended...It was a good thought...that the year which completed the third century of its existence should not be suffered to pass unmarked by some appropriate celebration - some recognition of the debt which the scholars and the inhabitants of the town alike owed to the institution of the Protestant King'. From "Illustrated London News", 1850.
