King Charles VII of France (1403-1461), c1445 (1849). Charles was King of France from 1422 to his death. He was a member of the House of Valois and was the son of Charles VI. He was famously crowned in Reims in 1429 through the endeavours of Joan of Arc to free France from the English. A 19th century chromolithograph based on an original 15th century painting held by the Louvre, Paris. From Le Moyen Age et la Renaissance, by Paul Lacroix, Ferdinand Séré and A Rivaud, volume V (Paris, 1849).
