Henry Cabot Slim Lodge (1850-1924), American Republican Senator and historian, c1910. He was also a friend and confidant of Theodore Roosevelt. He had the role of Senate Majority leader. He is best known for his positions on foreign policy, especially his battle with President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 over the Treaty of Versailles.
