George William Frederick Charles, 2nd Duke of Cambridge, British soldier, c1885. A cousin of Queen Victoria, the Duke of Cambridge (1819-1904) commanded a division in the Crimean War of 1853-1856. He was promoted to the rank of Field marshal in 1862 and is shown here on mounted parade holding his Field Marshal's baton.
