'Front of Old Drury Lane Theatre', (1881). View of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, in Covent Garden. The facade on Bridges Street, added in 1775, gave the theatre its first on-street entrance. The earliest theatre on the site dated back to 1663, making it the oldest theatre site in London still in use. From Old and New London: A Narrative of Its History, Its People, and Its Places. Westminster and the Western Suburbs, by Edward Walford, Vol. III. [Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co., London, Paris & New York, 1881]
