Foundation Sancti-Spiritus . Velazquez founded Sancti-Spiritus in the same year as he founded Trinidad, in 1514. In 1550 it had 400 inhabitants and in 1605 was attacked and nearly destroyed by the Frenchman, Philip Le Grand. The Foundation carried out by Fernandez de Oviedo.
