Empire State Building, New York City, New York, USA, 1951. Vintage linen postcard showing the Empire State Building towering above all the surrounding buildings. This famous Art Deco landmark, designed by Shreve, Lamb, and Harmon, was the world's tallest building when it opened in 1931. Since the destruction of the World Trade Centre in 2001, it is once again the tallest building in New York.
