'Druid-Hill Park', 1874. Sheep grazing, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. The Druid Hill Park was purchased in 1860 by the City of Baltimore, and was designed by Howard Daniels. Druid Lake, the park's most notable waterway, was constructed in 1863 and served as a reservoir for the Baltimore metropolitan area public water system. Recreation facilities such as pools and tennis courts were racially segregated.
