Battle Axes Hotel, Elstree, Hertfordshire, c1955. Pub believed to be haunted by the ghost of a German airman. The spectre of a man dressed in a German pilot's uniform has supposedly been seen walking through the secluded country pub and is spotted loitering in the hedgerows nearby. It is believed the pub, built in 1890 near Elstree Aerodrome, was the site of a plane crash.
