Cast of a bust of Raphael, 1833. This is a plaster cast of Giuseppe Fabris' 1833 bronze bust of Italian Renaissance artist Raphael (1483-1520), which is located in a niche above Raphael's tomb in the Pantheon, Rome. Fabris' bust was itself made to replace an earlier marble bust by Paolo Naldini (1674) which in 1820 was moved to the Capitoline Museums in Rome. This is one of eight busts of artists and architects installed in the 'Octagon' in the Main Galleries at Burlington House when the Royal Academy of Arts moved there in 1868. It lacks the shoulders of Fabris' bust.
