Saturnino Esteban Collantes y Miquel, Count of Esteban Collantes, 1891. Portrait of Spanish politician Saturnino Esteban Collantes (1847-1937), son of Agustín Esteban Collantes and Manuela María Miquel Lucuy. He was Minister of Public Instruction and Fine Arts, Senator of the Kingdom, and State Councillor, and received the title of Count of Esteban Collantes in 1884. Collantes y Miquel married María Sandoval y Krus in 1875. He wears a ministerial uniform, over which he displays the Grand Crosses and sashes of Military Merit, the Portuguese Order of the Conception of Villaviciosa, and the rank of Commander of the Order of Charles III, as well as the Legion of Honour. His coat of arms is visible at the top of the portrait.
