French politician Camille Hyacinthe Odilon Barrot (1791-1873) was Minister of Justice, and briefly head of the council of ministers under the presidency of Louis Napoleon Bonaparte. Here he is depicted naked with cherub's wings, grumpily turning his back on dancers in a pastoral idyll.
