Portrait of John Wycliff or Wycliffe, (c1330-1384), English theologian, 1877. He was condemned for attacking the Pope in the Great Western Schism, (1378). After his death, his doctrines were condemned in 1415 at the Council of Constance, (1414-1418). In 1428 his remains were exhumed and his corpse was burned. Copy of engraving from 1581.
