Harvard House and the Talbot [sic] Inn, High Street, Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, c1955. The Garrick Inn is reputedly the oldest pub in Stratford. Harvard House, a listed building once known as the Ancient House, was built in 1596 by Thomas Rogers, grandfather of the benefactor of Harvard University, John Harvard. The House is cared for by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, on behalf of Harvard University.
