Imperial State Crown and Sceptre with the Dove, 1953. The Imperial State Crown was made for George VI in 1937. It is normally worn by the Sovereign after the Coronation ceremony and for the annual State Opening of Parliament. The Sceptre with the Dove (symbolising the Holy Ghost) was made in 1661. It is held in the Sovereign's left hand during the Coronation ceremony.
