Gregory...began life in the drawing office of the P. and O. Company at Southampton...In recent years, Mr. Gregory has shown more tendency to landscape work and portraiture...Mr. H. H. La Thangue...has taken to painting scones of peasant life, all more or less tinged with sadness...Sir Robert Baxter Llewelyn has for some years been Administrator of the British colony which includes the territory stretching on either side of the river Gambia as far inland as Zarbutendi. The district has ranked as an "independent" colony of Great Britain for the last ten years, and under the administration of Sir Robert Llewelyn its export trade has grown considerably in value...Canon J. Edgar Sheppard, Sub-Dean of the Chapels Royal...[was] Minor Canon of St. George's Chapel, Windsor.
