Saints Paul and Barnabas in Lystra, c1610-1620. Biblical scene in a city in central Anatolia, now part of present-day Turkey. The crowd they took Paul for the god Hermes and his companion Barnabas for Zeus. They wanted to offer sacrifices to them, but Paul and Barnabas shouted that they were merely men.
