The Triumph of Death, 14th century, (1877). The Dream of Life. Knights celebrating a hunt suddenly find three open coffins. One of the corpses is reduced to a skeleton. The other two are half-decomposed. After a fresco by Andrea Orcagna, 14th century, in the cloister of the Camposanto in Pisa.
