30 Euston Square and 194 Euston Road, London, 1967. View of the Grade II listed (entry 1113131) former headquarters of the London, Edinburgh and Glasgow Assurance Company at 30 Euston Square, formerly Melton Street, in the former Metropolitan Borough of St Pancras, (right) and the c1932 extension at 194 to 198 Euston Road (left), looking north. The building was owned by the government from 1948 and subsequently served a number of purposes, including being a local office of the Department of Health and Social Security until the 1990s, and is currently the headquarters of the Royal College of General Practitioners as well as an events venue. A two-wheeled wooden cart can be seen on the pavement next to a K6 telephone box. Vehicles seen at the junction include a Ford Zephyr Mark IV, turning left into Euston Square and Melton Street, a Ford Cortina Mark II estate, a Triumph Herald 1200, a Jaguar Mark 2 saloon, a Bedford CA van, and Morris LD vans, on the far side of railings of the central reservation of Euston Road. A large man carrying a book can be seen crossing Gordon Street behind a young boy, and two young ladies dressed in summer clothes crossing Euston Road.
