First Carlist War, (1833-1840): Siege of Lucena, 1870. José Miralles "el Serrador" attacks Lucena with his column. The town was besieged by Carlist troops led by José Miralles "el Serrador" (1792-1844). On 1 November 1835, it suffered an initial attack that it managed to resist thanks to militias from Castellón de la Plana and Liberal troops under the command of Antonio Buil.
