Conferences on Pheasant Island held between Luis Méndez de Haro (Kingdom of Spain) and Cardinal Mazarin (Kingdom of France), to negotiate the treaty of peace between both countries (Treaty of the Pyrenees), signed on November 7, 1659 (1890). The Spanish nobleman Luis Méndez de Haro and Jules Raymond Mazarin, known as Cardinal Mazarin, represented Spain and France respectively during a total of 23 meetings, negotiating the conditions that led to the treaty of peace.
