Students on the Pont de la Concorde in front of the troops, French Revolution of 1848 (23 to 25 February 1848), Paris, France, 1856. The undecided army. Popular uprising in Paris from 23 to 25 February 1848, led by workers and students, who were joined by the National Guard. As a result, and to avoid bloodshed, King Louis Philippe I I (1773-1850), besieged in the Tuileries, abdicated on the 24th in favour of his grandson, Prince Philippe of Orléans (1838-1894), Count of Paris.
